Ayurveda Day- Awareness Lecture

The Bureau of Indian Standards in collaboration with Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences celebrated Ayurveda Day on theme “Har Din Har Kisi Ke Liye Ayurveda” on 25th October 2023 at BIS Auditorium.

The program was inaugurated by Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General, CCRAS, Shree Rajeev Sharma, Deputy Director General (Std 1) BIS, Smt. Manju Gupta, Head, Ayush Department, BIS and Dr. Rajagopala S, Associate Professor, AIIA by Lighting of Lamp and Dhanvantari Vandana.

Smt. Manju Gupta delivered welcome address and acknowledged the significance of the event.

Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya in his address emphasized on importance of developing standards in Ayush systems as Ayush is being practiced in more than 90 countries and India can achieve great milestones in this area.

Shree Rajeev Sharma highlighted the programme’s objectives, shedding light on the positive impact Ayush can make on the overall wellness and healthcare system. He emphasized the need for holistic approaches to healthcare and the role that Ayush Department plays in promoting traditional and alternative medicine practices. 

Dr. Rajagopala S delivered an informative lecture on the Principles, Practices, and Benefits of Ayurveda. Throughout the lecture, he covered all the essential aspects of Ayurvedic Basic Principles and referenced the available standardization methods mentioned in Ayurvedic Texts. In addition to this, Dr. Rajagopala S also highlighted the achievements and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU’s) of Ayush. He discussed the various Ayush Portals and provided detailed information about different National Institutes related to Ayush.

The program ended by Vote of Thanks by Dr. Raghavendra Naik, Scientist C, Ayush Department.

Free Ayurveda Medical Camp

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) conducted a free Ayurveda medical camp on 25th October 2023 at BIS Headquarters. The camp was inaugurated by Shree Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Director General, BIS, Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General, Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Shree Rajeev Sharma, Deputy Director General (Std 1) BIS, and Smt. Manju Gupta, Head, Ayush Department, BIS. The event was attended by officers from the Ayush Department, as well as employees from various sections of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

Doctors from the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, located in Punjabibagh, New Delhi, participated in the free Ayurveda health camp. The camp aimed to provide Ayurvedic healthcare services to all the attendees. In addition to the medical consultations, the camp also provided free medicine distribution to the patients.

The Ayurveda medical camp witnessed an impressive turnout, with more than 175 patients availing its benefits.
